the morning routine i have found that actually helps me (and it’s quick- so I stick with it)
Even when both my kids have piled in bed with me and I’m extra tired, this is one I’m able to sneak out and do (for myself!) before the day starts!
Recently I went through a period when I was feeling super lost. I felt unsure of how to structure my days, find motivation to get creative, move my body, manage my work, run a household, begin our homeschooling portion of the year, manage my kids and their emotional needs, and find any sort of creative outlet to help me feel inspired again. I was extremely overwhelmed and at the same time, slightly bored of my current situation. How is that even possible? I felt unsure about what I wanted, how to structure my time, if our direction as a family was on track, and how to get motivated to exercise and be creative again. To summarize: I was in a rut. Here I’m sharing the 15 minute routine that pulled me out of it faster than I would have ever imagined. It helped me reconnect with myself and organize my life. It has helped me so much I wanted to share it with you guys.

Hello, hello, Emily here. And today I wanted to talk to you guys about a very quick and manageable morning routine that I've been doing lately that has completely changed the way I feel and the way I go about my day. And I stole this morning routine from Brendan Burchard. He is one of the world's top motivational coaches. I'm constantly listening to motivational and uplifting material.
It's kind of how I keep myself going. And it has helped me so tremendously that I wanted to share it with you guys because one of the top things I hear from my clients and from the people that I work with is that they feel lost. They feel a bit confused about their sense of purpose. They feel like they've lost touch with their interests, with things that excite them, with kind of like...
looking forward to their day, you know? And I also see this trend a lot among my friends whose children are elementary school age and they haven't necessarily found a meaningful type of work or something that they like to do with that time. They might feel a little bit lost. Their kids need them a little bit less now. They have a little bit more time on their hands. Anyway, for me, this has been super helpful because we've been in a very big time of transition. We...
split time internationally, half the time in Florida, half the time in Costa Rica. And yes, that is an absolute dream come true. I feel so fortunate to be able to do that. And also the transition between the two different lifestyles can be very bumpy and very hard. And the last few weeks I've been feeling a little lost myself, kind of feeling like.
What do I even want for myself? Why are we doing this? Am I sure this is right for my family? Am I sure this is right for me? And kind of being out of a rhythm and a routine. And so I don't remember where I came across this. think this was on Brendan's podcast, but he talks about this incredibly impactful morning routine. And the reason it is so manageable is because you only have to take five minutes to do

three different activities. Five minutes to move your body, five minutes to write and reflect, and five minutes to read something inspirational or motivational or meaningful, something that uplifts you and challenges you. And so listening to this, you know, I feel like oftentimes we're like, I want to wake up and have a moment of quiet to myself, but I don't really know what to do with that time.
It gave me the absolute perfect structure and it made it feel very tangible to me. And I want you guys to have this tool for yourselves and see how quickly it impacts you, how quickly it changes you, and how quickly you will be stretching that time and saying, I need 20 minutes to write, I need 20 minutes to read, and I need 20 minutes to move. But because it really is that effective.
It will allow you to reconnect with yourself. Writing is one of the most important tools where we get information about what is really going on inside of us, what we really want, what we really feel. As we write, we release a lot of, if we're writing about something negative, for example, we release a lot of negative emotion and our frequency, our vibration starts to go faster and move higher and ultimately it can help you to.
Reconnect to your higher self or to your spirit because as you write You raise your vibration to a point where your higher self can reconnect with you It's if it's been a while and they haven't been able to because you've kind of been stuck in the muck Exercising and move your body also raises your vibration Releases all sorts of incredible feel-good Hormones and endorphins in your body as you already know, but it also grounds you into your body
And then reading moves your brain in the right direction.

In order to do this, want to challenge you, if this sounds appealing to you, to get yourself ready today for tomorrow. Because otherwise, you're going to go to the space tomorrow and you're going be like, wait, I have nothing to write on. Run to the kitchen and grab a pen. Find a pad of paper somewhere in the closet. wait, what am I going to do for my five minutes of moving my body? I'll just stretch. Okay, I'll just lay here for three minutes. Wait, let me find a YouTube video. Wait, what am going to read? Run back into the...
you know, the bookshelf and try to find something. Get yourself ready to move straight into this routine in the morning. Know what you're going to do for your five minutes of movement. Maybe you want to do a five minute of stretch. Maybe you want to do a 15 minute Pilates workout. I don't know, but make it manageable and tangible for you. Know what you're going to read and know what you're going to write about.
One of the things, not what you're gonna write about, what you're gonna write on and write with. One of the things that is really important is making sure when you're writing that you do set some small goals for what you're working on overall in your life and what you want to accomplish that day. And it can be something simple. It can be something simple like I want to feel calm and present while I'm getting the kids ready for school today. And I'm gonna remember
to use this tool that I saw on a YouTube video last week. Or I want to have something fun planned for us when I pick them up after school today. Or I want to get this, this, this, this, this phone call done. the process of writing down those goals and accomplishing them throughout the day will not only help you give yourself credit because you'll realize how much you do do, but will also give you more focus.
and it will help you get more done during the day and build your confidence and help you get into some sort of rhythm and a routine of productivity and acknowledging what you're capable of accomplishing. five minutes of movement tomorrow, five minutes of writing and journaling and reflecting on your goals and what you want, and five minutes of reading something inspirational. And you will be surprised what comes up during this time. And I'll give you an example.

I have been feeling very stressed and uncertain about the schedule. Is it okay for my kids to spend half of the year in an international school and then half of the year homeschooling? Is that too much for them to shift between two different schedules that are so different and so dynamic and then spend a lot of time in Florida kind of reacquainting ourselves with friends there and then trying to reestablish ourselves with friends in Costa Rica? Is that too socially stressful for them?
When I was writing, I asked for little bit of clarity on that. said, this has been heavy on my heart. Please allow me to have some clarity about this. And as my fingers kept typing across the board, I wrote very, very clearly that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. That it is, that I am focusing on the hard aspects to that situation as opposed to focusing on the
hundreds and hundreds of upsides to that situation, right? That I'm focusing on the negative, which yes, there are some, as opposed to focusing on the positive, which definitely outweighs the negative. And so I was able to find some peace and clarity in that situation and tune into what I wanted. When for weeks I had just been like, what do do about this? What do I do about this? What do do about this? Is this right? Just like sitting in the uncertainty. So.
challenge you and I encourage you as your friend to try this super manageable routine. Five minutes to move your body, five minutes to write and reflect on your goals and any questions and growth that you have and five minutes to read something inspirational. Watch how quickly your life changes. Watch how quickly you begin to
crave your own time and your own attention. Watch how quickly you begin to crave that movement again. Watch as you begin to add more minutes to each of those three activities because you'll see how much it nourishes and restores you. If you are spiritual like I am, you can always start your morning by saying a prayer and asking that this time be used for the highest and best good of your soul and your soul's path.

and reconnecting with your spirit and just ask that God bless that time for you if you're spiritual. But if not, you can just go through the various activities and I assure you that you will begin to get what you need. All right, guys, thank you so much for listening. If you try this and find it helpful, please let me know. If you wanna book a session with me or just have a conversation with me, I would love to hear from you.
My email is heywiseandwild@gmail.com or you can find me on Instagram at @heywiseandwild. All right. I know there's a million people you can listen to and I cannot thank you enough for spending your time with me. It means a lot and
I hope that we can all focus on living the most meaningful, expanded lives that we possibly can. Love you guys.
