Boys & Anger: Why Punishments Lead to Isolation and Loneliness

How Cooking with Kids Transforms Parenting

Dear Donna Series

In these recordings, I shares some of my most challenging moments with my two strong willed, sensitive boys with holistic psychotherapist Donna Scott, MSW, LCS. Donna gives me feedback and guidance for the reality of imperfect, conscious parenting from the perspective of a therapist who has been helping families and children for forty years! Donna helped me in a time of absolute crisis and we wanted to share some vulnerable conversations in the hope that they will help you, too.

Our focus is to respond to and parent our children in a way that encourages their best possible emotional and mental health- navigating the messy imperfect responses that we often have and our own healing that accompanies the parenting journey.

More about Donna: Donna began as a certified play therapist but branched into adult psychotherapy as she began to realize that one of the most effective ways to support a child was to also work with the parents, which drastically improves the outcome for the child. She has a broad spectrum of experience, having studied various models of therapy including heart assisted therapy, play therapy, EFT (also known as tapping), classical behavioral therapy, family system therapy, and humanistic therapies.  Donna blends her years of experience with her spiritually integrated psychotherapy.
